February 16th Update

Updated: Feb 20, 2021

This morning, Michael and Mom took Shyra to Urgent Care because she was extremely dehydrated and had been throwing up for 4 days. This was a really good call, and the Urgent Care admitted her right away and hooked her up to an IV for about 3 hours. The change in her color and demeanor afterwards was incredible! I picked her up from urgent care, with a blanket, snacks, and ginger ale. She ate the snacks and drank the ginger ale on the car ride home and was chatty and upbeat. This girl is amazing.

We got home and she had a burst of energy and wanted to put away laundry and walk around a bit for exercise. We laughed and told stories and she was able to eat some more, which really brightened up her spirits. We talked about her medical care and experience thus far, and she is so positive and hopeful. It was good to hear her perspective and her wishes during this time.

She loves the blog and reading all of your comments. Keep 'em coming!

Please continue to pray that she can stay hydrated and keep food down, as her body is currently having a hard time digesting the anti-nausea meds. Pray the nausea goes away and she can get the rest she needs to recover and get back on her feet. The beach is calling and she desperately wants to dip her toes into the sand.
